Experiment 1 - Celestial Rhythms

In this experiment, biometric data—pulse, breath, and blink patterns—are transformed into hypnotic, astro-inspired visuals through p5.js. Each visualization centers around a circular or spherical form, resembling planets or cosmic bodies, encapsulated by swirling particles that mimic the delicate, vast spread of stars in space. The layered, translucent textures give an ethereal sense of depth and motion, as if witnessing celestial phenomena unfolding in real time.

This experiment serves as a contemplative journey, where simple human data pulses to life in an infinite, galactic expanse, inviting viewers to reflect on the interconnectedness of the body and the cosmos.

  • This variation explores the intersection of biometric data and generative art, using p5.js to create dynamic, ever-evolving visuals with each click. By transforming pulse, breath, and blink data into celestial-inspired patterns, the generative code produces a new, unique visual experience every time it’s activated.

  • For the visuals below, we explored various iterations experimenting with different effects, motion, and visual dynamics to expand the range of possibilities within the experience.

This experiment serves as an immersive exploration of how simple biometric data—pulse, breath, and blink patterns—can be transformed into visually striking, astro-inspired generative art. Through experimenting with diverse effects and motions, the project expands the boundaries of generative art, inviting a deeper connection between human physiology and the vastness of space.
