Experiment 3 - The Clustered Cosmos

This experiment (The Clustered Cosmos) expands on the concept of transforming biometric data into cosmic visuals by incorporating collective data from an entire class. Using pulse, breath, and blink patterns from each participant, this project visualizes the compiled data as clusters orbiting around central points, inspired by planetary systems and celestial orbits.

Unlike Celestial Rhythms’s solitary, individual-centric visuals, The Clustered Cosmos presents a constellation-like arrangement where each data point represents a participant, forming interconnected clusters that suggest social and cosmic unity. This collaborative data approach creates dynamic, orbiting visuals that explore the shared rhythms of the group, portraying each individual’s presence within a collective cosmic network.

In the solar system, each planet rotates at its own pace while collectively orbiting around the sun. Just as each individual's data is unique, everyone lives their lives at different speeds, with no definitive answers to life's questions. This metaphor illustrates how individual experiences come together to create the broader flow of life.

The clustered visuals resemble constellations, reflecting how each participant’s data contributes to a larger, unified system. Ultimately, The Clustered Cosmos explores the harmony of human rhythms within a collective framework, merging personal and group identity into a dynamic, orbiting cosmos that celebrates our place within a vast, interconnected universe.
